Gods influence the lives of mortals by giving them stregth, power, or maybe being weak. The Gods make that person who they are throughout thier life, and what they should be as a character.
Gods control the lives of mortals in every day life with more than fear. the gods deterime what happens each moment in a person's life down to what they think. this leads to fate because the mortals dont control their own life.
Gods control the fate of the mortals. The mortals live thier lives the way they think the gods would want them to live thier lives because they are trying to impress the gods in a way to please the gods and stay in thier good favor.
The gods directly influence the lives of mortals, completely reshaping a mortals' fate to serve their own agendas. Zeus let Hera ruin Troy simply to avoid a fight, and claimed the right to ruin any city that she loved, without having to ask her. This kind of arbitrary decision about mortals' lives is wicked commmon on Mount Olympus.
The mortals do not always have free will because of the gods. They get involved so that the mortal's fate comes out the way the gods want it to. This is evident during the duel between Meleleus and Paris. Meleleus would have won the fight, if the gods did not interfere and allow PAris to get away.
the gods influence the lives of mortals in a huge way. it almost seems that the mortals dont really have free will. the gods basically decide that this is whats going to happen and this is how its going to be, so the humans are all fated to do certain things. i personally dont think thats its fair for the humans. the gods always do things that seem to cause war and conflict for the mortals just for their own amusment. the gods basically contol everything in the mortals lives and the mortals dont have the ability to change anything
The gods influence the mortals like Paris. They come before him and show him Helen in a vision which spurs him on to persue her more. The gods are the ones to blame for bringing Paris and Helen together in a way. The gods influence the mortals by telling what will come to pass if they do or do not do something. It's almost as if the gods do this badgeringly to them telling them to do it or else!
The Gods directly influence the lives of the mortals because the mortals look up to the gods because they rule everything, and can cause suffrage among their people along with success. If the Gods don’t agree with something that the mortals or they go against the gods wishes, the gods will punish them. It seems like the mortals don’t have free will, and their fate is decided by the gods. The only thing that the mortals can do to ensure a good future is to please the gods by sacrifice and anything else that will please the gods, and persuade them into helping out the mortals with what they want.
Gods influence the lives of mortals because they give them hope for something after death. The Gods also give them something (or someone) to look up to during hardship. It gives the mortals something to believe in that's bigger than themselves and it let's them have faith in a higher being so they don't feel so alone in battle.
The Gods influence mortals by tending to their desires. They provoke them with offers of power, rapture, and lust, to big them to their will, like when Paris was being offered gifts by the Goddesses when deciding who was the fairest. He was offered victory in all of his battles, absolute power as a king, and of course, Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world. If men could not be tempted by their desires, they were persuaded through fear instead. When Helen refused to go see Paris after he was taken to his room by Aphrodite, she was threatened by the Goddess to do so. If the Gods want the mortals to do their bidding, they are willing to do whatever they need to to convince them.
The god's influence mortals like a very bad storm. They look harmless untill they are very close and then they unleash their fury on to everyone within a mile radius. In other words they go around smiting powerful kings' followers until the king finally makes a sacrofice or does what they want. Almost like a very sharp enclosed guide line that you cut yourself on if you go out of the lines. In the end the gods just shape the world in the way they want the mortals(toys) to be.
The gods have an immense influence over the lives of the mortals. In Book One, Apollo has the overall control of Agamemnon's decisions regarding war. Agamemnon, having stolen the daughter of Apollo's priest, is punished. Since Apollo strikes the Agaean army with plague, Agamemnon has no choice but to give Chryseis back to Chryses. This is so because Apollo knew that Agamemnon would choose victory and glory in war over women, so he could not stand to have his army wiped out. Also, in Book Three, Aphrodite has control over the battle between Paris and Menelaus. Paris is swept away by Aphrodite, and she also threatens Helen to join Paris in bed, even though she did not want to.
The gods do really influence the lives of the mortals and it’s not always because the gods feel like helping them it’s because the mortals pray to them and ask them for their help. For instance when Paris and Menelaus were fighting, Paris never prayed to Aphrodite to help him she just jumped in and save him because she favored him more. But when Achilles was enraged with Agamemnon for making fun of him he cried about it and had his mother go and personally ask the gods for help. So without the gods the mortals would have to rely on free will and take their responsibly on their own.
The mortals always try to live up to the Gods, even though it's not possible because there Gods. The Gods get everything handed to them, they decide people's fate and what's going to happen. The mortals try to receive power over the land and people, but since they cannot, they always call to the Gods for help, and try to recieve power from the Gods.
The actions of the gods have a great effect on the lives of mortals. In fact the Trojan War, a ten year battle causing many casualties on both sides began because of a quarrel between the gods. Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite all believing that they were worthy of the Golden Apple addressed to "the fairest goddess" decided to call upon Trojan Paris to judge. Each goddess bribed him but Paris chose Aphrodite who gave him as a reward Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world. However Helen was already married to Mycenaean, Menelaus and this single event sparked the Trojan War. Even during the war the gods take sides usually for their own selfish reasons. For example Zeus supports the Trojans because of Thetis' persuasion; and Aphrodite saves Paris in a battle which would have otherwise ended his life and the war.
